The famous 20th century artist Benedetto De Lisi created the original sculpture for this clone. He also produced the statue “Il Lavoro” (Labour) now in the Palazzo della Civiltà del Lavoro in Rome. The original is a model in white Carrara marble, whereas De Lisi’s finished product is in the Politeama Theatre garden in Palermo.
This eco-friendly design object has an ardent expressiveness, due to the face resolutely turning to the left, a bewildered look and taut lips, with flowing hair which almost covers part of the profile: all elements of the clone which make it particularly suitable for extremely elegant settings in Gustavian or Minimalist styles.
The figure’s strong character suggests pale, evanescent colours to exalt the shapes without too much shadow.
